Dieses Buch kombiniert Konstruktivismus und Rationalismus, um einen unkonventionellen Blick auf die europäische Außenpolitik, u.a. die Europäische Nachbarschaftspolitik (ENP), zu werfen. Vertiefte Diskursanalyse und Interviews in der östlichen Nachbarschaft (Ukraine, Georgien und Moldau), in drei Mitgliedstaaten (Deutschland, Frankreich und Polen), sowie in EU Institutionen (Rat, Kommission, Parlament) bieten dem Leser eine neue Perspektive auf die Herkunft und die Weiterentwicklung der ENP. Die Analyse ist sowohl für Praktiker als auch Wissenschaftler Europäischer Studien und Internationaler Beziehungen, die sich für eine konzeptualisierte Herangehensweise der Nachbarschaftspolitik interessieren, von Nutzen.
